7 1/4 tram locomotive

I was given a 10 1/4 tram in summer, it was originally from Aston Tramway Museum. Its wiring is in a bad condition as it is so old. It's a gauge of 10 1/4 at this moment in time but all in good time it will become a gauge of 7 1/4. This will then live at Echills Wood Railway at Kingsbury water park.

Radio Control And Maintenance

At this moment in time I do not know how to fit Radio Control into a locomotive so a friend does it for me, his name is Andy Spencer he is a 16mm/G scale modeler he can do pretty much everything from fitting RC into a loco to fitting sound into a loco.

If you wish to have some work done to your loco or repair done to a wagon ETC...
(Andy Spencer will repair and fit RC)

Please drop me an email.

How I Re - Painted and improved a very cheap ECR Tanker wagon!

I only just found out the company 'Train' who do cheap G scale wagons and locomotives. i recently was given 2 ECR tanker wagons which were colored in a bright blue and a blinding yellow! well after deep thinking and lots of research I decided to make these look less made of plastic.

After looking at the 'Peckforton Light Railway's' Blog I decided to spray it with grey primer and weather it with at paint brush.

Please look at the 'Peckforton Light Railway's' Blog!

How I Ballasted My Track

Some people think ballast is annoying and a waste of time in garden railways, but i just think it adds to the effect of the railway.

I have used 2 methods of ballasting.

1 being the concrete and stone method and 2 the 'PVA' glue method which gives an affect of a well ballasted line.
Here is an overlook of the tightest corner of the line (PVA Method)
And here is the concrete ballast method

And finally an overlook of the concreted ballast track going towards Valley Rock Terminal.

How I Customized Some HLW Tippler Wagons.

I Bought 4 HLW tippler wagons off a friend about a month ago. They have been sitting around doing nothing, so on a rainy afternoon I thought it was an opportunity to recreate some old quarry tippler wagons.

So here is the original Tippler Wagon.
Looking Cheap and standard.

I then took the body off the chassis to be able to spray and dry brush.

Then it was a job of spraying the chassis with a red-ish primer in my very professional spray center.(an old cardboard box!)

When the Primer had dried i covered the chassis and body in black acrylic paint i then gently rubbed off the paint with a paper towel.

I then left them to dry, and then LIGHTLY sprayed them with Halfords Grey Primer.

Until i achieved this final old looking quarry tippler wagon.
